Erythromycin

Erythromycin is the first medication of macrolide antibiotics group. It is able to slow down or even stop the growth of certain sensitive bacteria, including Staphylococcus, Pneumococcus, Streptococcus, and others. Its antibacterial action is similar to that of penicillins, but it is less allergenic and has a fewer side-effects. Thus, Erythromycin is frequently prescribed for the treatment of various bacterial infections due to its high potency and safety.

Erythromycin is also marketed under the names: E.E.S. Granules (-200/-400/-400Filmtab), Ery-Tab, EryPed 200 (400), Eryc.
