Clonidine (Generic)

Clonidine (generic) is a drug that affects certain adrenergic receptors (alpha-2). Activating them, Clonidine causes an abrupt drop in blood pressure, which allows using this drug in emergency (extreme) situations. The medicine regulates the tone of blood vessels, decreases heart rate, decreases cardiac output (amount of blood ejected out of ventricle with each contraction(stroke)), and reduces the production of intraocular fluid (violation of outflow can lead to glaucoma).

Generic Clonidine is also marketed as: Catapres-TTS-1/ TTS-2/ TTS-3.
